Emonio App: Update Version 1.8.0

- Categories : Emonio App

The new app version brings separate counters for incoming and outgoing energy, new energy values, a display for the pulse counter, a revised current sensor selection, final preparations for the new Emonio and minor bug fixes.

Separate counters

Since firmware version 3.0.61, the Emonio supports separate meters for incoming and outgoing energy. These are now also displayed in the app.

The design of the energy meters on the "Home" page has been adapted for this purpose. The total meter reading is still displayed in the blue fields. This can be expanded by clicking on it and then displays the separate meter readings.

If the energy meter is reset using the "Reset" button, all meter readings are reset.

New energy values

In preparation for the new P3 and P3plus, further energy values are displayed (if supported by the Emonio). These include the neutral current and the values of the total harmonic distortion( THD) of the current and voltage.

The neutral current is not a direct measured value, but results from the vector addition of the three current vectors. It will be possible to measure the neutral conductor current with the Emonio P4, which is currently under development.

Revised current sensor selection

Old setting
New setting

The setting of the current sensors has been adapted and is now easier to understand.

The most fundamental distinction is whether the output signal of the sensors must be integrated or not. Sensors such as the folding current transformers and old Rogowski coils (with integrator in the cable) already supply a signal that corresponds to the current. All current Rogowski coils provide a signal that reflects the change in current and therefore still needs to be integrated. Previously, a tick had to be placed next to RC without integrator in the setup.
This setting often led to misunderstandings and has therefore been revised.

From now on, there will be a simple selection that includes the Current transformer and Rogowski coil options, making it much easier to see what to select with which current sensors.

For future Emonios and the Emonio P3plus, the sensor selection step will be a necessary step in the initial configuration and will be introduced with this update.

Pulse counter display

The pulse counter reading is now displayed on the "Home" page.

As with the energy meter, the date of the last reset is displayed and the reset function is available.

A matching pulse generator for gas meters has recently been added to our shop, which allows gas consumption to be recorded with the Emonio in addition to electrical energy consumption.

Bug fixes

Hidden files are no longer displayed in the file view. This sometimes led to confusion, as unknown and cryptic files could be seen. For example, when the Emonio buffered data due to a lack of internet connection and created a .buf  file.

Another error was in the setup of the pulse counter, where the set factor was always displayed as "0". If a value was set, it was also accepted correctly, only the display after reopening was incorrect. The correct factor is now displayed here.
